The Culture and Information Centre at the Embassy of Japan aims to provide a comprehensive information service on Japan and to promote Japanese Culture in South Africa.
We handle enquiries on all aspects on Japan, Japanese Culture and Japanese facilities in South Africa.
Enquiries can be made by telephone, letter, fax or email. If we are unable to deal with your query directly, we will be happy to put you in touch with other organisations that maybe able to help.
In the Culture and Information Centre, Embassy of Japan you can find a broad collection of books on Japan, most of which can be borrowed.
There are books (both in Japanese and English) on various aspects of Japan, such as History, Economy, Religion, Literature, Architecture, Education and Culture and Society. We also have a broad collection of Japanese magazines and newspapers such as Oricon Style magazine, and Yomiuri and Mainichi newspapers.
As a means for introducing Japanese culture, life and society to the public, the Centre screens videos on a daily basis on Japan topics and Japanese films with English subtitles. For information on the videos that are screened please do not hesitate to contact us.
