VISA INFORMATION
To those who wish to visit Japan for the purpose of watching the soccer games of 2002 FIFA World-Cup Korea /Japan (except for nationals of the countries which have visa exemption arrangements with Japan and nationals of the Republic of Korea)
The government of Japan has the pleasure to inform about the visa procedures to enter Japan for the purpose of watching the soccer games of 2002 FIFA World-Cup Korea / Japan which will be held from May 31 to June 30, 2002.
If you have an official ticket for a game held in Japan or some other material which can prove you will later obtain the ticket (e.g. a certification issued by the official partner or the national football association), do not fail to bring it with the above documents upon your visa application. After the evaluation that the main purpose of your visit is to watch the games and that you have no problems on other pointsatemporary visitor's visa (for single entry, valid for 3 months, stay period up to 90 days) will be issued.

Visa applications in countries other than the country you reside will not be received. Please make sure to apply for a visa at the nearest Embassy or Consulate-General of Japan located in the country where you actually live.
During the period between May 15 and June 30, the pre-clearance immigration services will be put into operation at the Incheon International Airport in the Republic of Korea. This service will be conducted by Japanese immigration officers for the purpose of speeding up the entry procedures at airports in Japan and will be offered only to those who wish to go though it at the Incheon International Airport.
